Overview

Push modeled facts/dimensions to Snowflake or query Snowflake tables in InsightLake. Secure credentials, scheduled syncs, and role-based access.

• Writer: export DIM/FACT tables on schedule (full or incremental)

• Reader: query Snowflake from boards/SQL console (read-only roles)

• Automatic schema creation and upsert keys

• Secrets in KMS; rotate without downtime

   Step 1

   In Snowflake, create a user/role and warehouse for InsightLake (least-privilege).

   In InsightLake → Connections → Snowflake, enter Account, Username, Auth (Key/Password), Role, Warehouse, and Database.

   Choose Reader (ingest from Snowflake) and/or Writer (publish to Snowflake).

Limitations

• Writer upserts require a stable primary key; configure in dataset mapping.

• Very large initial loads are chunked; expect multi-hour first syncs.
