Amazon S3 — Integration

Use S3 buckets for cold/archive storage with signed URLs, lifecycle transitions (Glacier), and minimal egress via provider links.

Overview

Use S3 buckets for cold/archive storage with signed URLs, lifecycle transitions (Glacier), and minimal egress via provider links.

Capabilities

  • Per‑bucket routing & prefix strategy (Velaxe/<Workspace>/...)

  • Presigned URLs for upload/download; optional KMS‑CMK encryption

  • Lifecycle rules for transition/expiration (e.g., Glacier)

  • Server‑side and client‑side checksum validation

  • EventBridge/S3 notifications for delta

Setup Steps (5)

  1. 1

    Step 1

Create an S3 bucket and (optionally) enable default encryption (SSE‑KMS).

  2. 2

    Step 2

Create an IAM role/user with least‑privilege policy for the bucket/prefix.

  3. 3

    Step 3

In File-Vault → Connections → **Add Provider**, choose **Amazon S3** and paste keys or assume‑role settings.

  4. 4

    Step 4

Set lifecycle rules and choose signed‑URL expiry defaults.

  5. 5

    Step 5

Save and test with a large file to validate multipart upload.

Limitations

  • No native previews; File-Vault can proxy thumbnails if enabled.

  • Cross‑region egress fees may apply; keep buckets near users.

FAQs

Do you support customer‑managed keys?

Yes. Provide the CMK ARN and ensure the role has encrypt/decrypt permissions.

Can I restrict to VPC endpoints?
