What can users do inside File-Vault?

Users can browse folders, search, upload, create folders, preview and download files, copy, move, rename, trash, restore, manage versions, share files, and work with metadata or tags when their permissions and resource policies allow it.

How does File-Vault control access to an individual file or folder?

File-Vault combines workspace permissions with resource policy and database-managed ACL principals such as users, roles, teams, groups, and applications. Document governance such as download policy, link policy, retention, and legal hold is evaluated where applicable.

How can another workspace application use File-Vault?

Administrators authorize explicit File-Vault operations and transports for the application. Trusted Handler or RCP calls then enter the same File-Vault capability runtime, while Bridge v2 supports scoped signed integration credentials.

Can another application upload a file before its business record exists?

Yes. File-Vault supports upload and later binding. A caller can upload into governed staging state and bind the resulting file to its final source application, object type, and object identifier when the business record is available.

How are externally shared files controlled?

External share links are policy-governed and can include expiry, access restrictions, access or download limits, password controls, recipient constraints, IP restrictions, and revocation. Authorized delivery still passes through File-Vault resource policy.
